Italy to allow fans to attend 2021 UEFA Euro
The Italian government announced on Tuesday it would allow fans to attend the 2021 UEFA European Football Championship’s games that will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
The country’s Health Minister Roberto Speranza told the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) authorities would soon “clarify the protocols that will allow the events to be carried out safely” amid the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The championship was supposed to be held from June 12 to July 12, 2020, but was postponed to the period between June 11 and July 11, 2021, due to the pandemic. Officially still called the UEFA Euro 2020, it will take place in twelve cities, with the semi-finals and final to be played at Wembley Stadium in London.
