Italy will need to use J&J’s virus vaccine – minister
Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza stressed on Tuesday health workers would need to continue using Johnson and Johnson’s (J&J) vaccine against COVID-19 for the sake of the country’s mass vaccination program.
His comments came after the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) decided to pause using the jab amid worries it was creating blood clots in people that received it. Meanwhile, the company postponed its deliveries to Europe over those concerns.
“We will evaluate the situation in the coming days over what will be the best way forward,” Speranza remarked, as quoted by ADNKronos. “But I think that this vaccine too will have to be used because it is an important vaccine.”
