It’s wrong to assume China will invade Taiwan – Putin
Assuming that China will reach for its armed forces in the dispute over Taiwan is wrong, as Beijing came out with no such plans so far, Russian President Vladimir Putin underlined on Monday.
In an interview with NBS, Putin urged against using the “subjunctive mood,” adding that the relations between China and Taiwan have been through “many phases,” but never reached overheating.
Putin explained that Moscow and Beijing don’t agree on every topic, but described the relations between the countries as a good one despite some actors’ efforts. “We see attempts to destroy relations between Russia and China, we see this in practical politics,” he concluded.
