Jan. 6 committee moves to hold Trump DoJ official in contempt
The January 6 Select Committee is moving forward with the criminal content referral of former Assistant US Attorney General Jeffrey Clark (pictured) after he refused to comply with a subpoena, the panel announced.
Clark was accused of helping former President Donald Trump overturn the 2020 election and was asked to submit documents related to the January 6 insurrection. However, the official “refused” to produce any documents or answer questions in his appearance before the select House committee.
The former DoJ official is the second Trump aide to have that criminal charge thrown against him, as former White House counselor Steve Bannon was already indicted in November after the House in October voted to hold him in contempt of Congress.
