Japan’s consumer prices up 0.1% in February
Japan’s consumer price index increased by 0.1% in February compared to the previous month and stood at 101.6, according to a report by the Statistics Bureau on Friday. On a yearly basis, it was down 0.4%.
Consumer prices excluding fresh food were also up 0.1% monthly and down 0.4% year-on-year, while prices excluding fresh food and energy were unchanged from January, and increased by 0.2% yearly. Prices of goods dropped 0.1% from the previous month and 0.8% year-on-year, while the price of services was unchanged both compared to January and to February 2020.
