Japan’s trade surplus at ¥137.3B in July
Japan in July saw its first goods trade surplus in four months, on the balance of payments (BOP) basis, with the figure shifting into positive territory again after remaining negative since April, a report released by the country’s Customs Office showed.
The Asian nation secured a BOP trade surplus of ¥137.3 billion (~$1.292 billion) in the month, surprising expectations, and improving compared to the deficit of ¥77.3 billion (~$727.31 million) recorded in June.
