Jobs report reminder of ‘long-haul climb’ to recovery – Yellen
United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen (pictured) stated on Friday that the underwhelming jobs report goes to underscore the “long-haul climb back” to the economic recovery in the US.
During a press conference at the White House, Yellen underlined that the country has made “remarkable economic progress” in the recent period, adding that the Biden administration prepared for a long fight to mitigate the pandemic’s negative impact, rather than just providing “a few months’ relief.”
“We knew it would be a long way back to recovery … and not a 100-day battle,” Yellen explained.
