Johnson remains in ‘stable’ condition, junior minister says
Junior Health Minister Edward Argar said on Wednesday that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson remains in “stable” condition after requiring intensive care for persistent symptoms of the coronavirus. “He is comfortable, he’s stable, he’s in good spirits. While he’s had oxygen, he hasn’t been on a ventilator,” according to Argar.
Appearing on the BBC’s Today Programme, Argar also said that the government is waiting on evidence pointing to a peak in COVID-19 deaths before making nay decisions on easing protective measures. “When the scientific advice is such that we appear to have gone over the peak and it appears safe to do so,” he said of a review of the lockdown.
However, he concluded that “we’re not in a position where that evidence is there at this point to make any changes.”
