Kim mobilizes army to tackle floods in N. Korea
North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un (pictured) has called up the country’s armed forces in order to mitigate the impact of the floods caused by heavy rains, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) revealed.
The military is tasked with providing the necessary supplies in the region, as a part of an effort to avoid an economic crisis and prevent food shortages, the agency said.
The report hasn’t specified the extent of the damages that occurred due to the floods.
