Libyan government’s forces enter Tarhuna
Libya’s internationally recognized government said on Friday that forces loyal to it entered the town of Tarhuna, the last stronghold of Khalifa Haftar’s (pictured) Libyan National Army (LNA).
The offensive to recapture the town south of Tripoli was launched on Wednesday, and Haftar’s LNA still didn’t comment on whether its forces are still present in the town.
LNA forces, backed by Russia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, still control the eastern part of Libya, as well as the south of the country, where the majority of its main oilfields are.
