Lockheed Martin, GM to develop lunar rover for NASA
Lockheed Martin and General Motors announced on Wednesday the companies are joining forces in the development of a lunar vehicle for NASA’s upcoming Artemis missions to the Moon.
“Surface mobility is critical to enable and sustain long-term exploration of the lunar surface. These next-generation rovers will dramatically extend the range of astronauts,” Lockheed Martin Executive Vice President Rick Ambrose said in a statement.
The Artemis Program aims to return humans to the Moon and was launched during the administration of former President Donald Trump in 2017.
