Lukashenko offers to land Biden’s plane in Minsk
Belorussian President Alexander Lukashenko stated during a conference on Wednesday that his American counterpart Joe Biden isn’t fully aware of Belarus’ domestic affairs and cannot lecture Russian President Vladimir Putin on the subject unless the two leaders decide to meet in Minsk. Lukashenko jokingly said he can easily land Biden’s plane and will have three military jets follow him from Switzerland.
Lukashenko shared his concerns that Biden doesn’t know where Belarus is located on the world map. Additionally, he offered to host the US-Russian summit and hear out all the accusations that the White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki would draft for her president.
The statement comes a day after the White House confirmed that Biden would be meeting with Putin on June 16 in Geneva, Switzerland. Among other subjects on the agenda is the Belorussian crisis following the forceful landing of the Ryanair flight with a Belorussian opposition politician onboard.
