Malwarebytes targeted by same SolarWinds hackers

American cyber-security company Malwarebytes shared on Tuesday that Dark Halo, the group behind the SolarWinds hack, managed to breach its internal systems.

However, “after an extensive investigation, we determined the attacker only gained access to a limited subset of internal company emails,” said CEO Marcin Kleczynski.

The hack was conducted through Microsoft’s Office 365 and Azure platform since Malwarebytes doesn’t use SolarWinds software. A “thorough investigation” of the code concluded all the products are safe to use, the company reported.
