Mandates contributing to higher vaccination rate – WH
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Wednesday that one of the reasons the vaccination rate in the United States has increased in August is that many companies, private sector institutions and states introduced vaccine mandates.
Psaki noted that other important factors that contributed to more people deciding to get inoculated are the Food and Drug Administration’s full approval of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, as well as a “fear of the Delta variant” and the fact that people are hearing “horrifying stories” about it.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump strongly criticized vaccine mandates, calling them “terrible” and urging “freedom of choice.”
