Marib fully secured despite Houthi attacks – Yemen
The Republic of Yemen Armed Forces announced on Friday Marib had been “fully secured” despite the Houthis’ “intense attacks” on the city.
Meanwhile, the country’s Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak condemned the assaults and accused the Houthis of hindering peace and Iran of supporting them. “The Iranian interventions have become a formidable obstruction to peace as Iran has turned the Yemeni conflict into a negotiating card that the Iranian regime capitalizes on to serve its nuclear negotiations,” he said.
The Houthis launched their latest attack on Marib in February. The United Nations and the United States both urged the movement to halt their action, with the latter designating two of its leaders over the matter.
