Maryland shooting leaves 2 wounded, suspect dead – local police
A shooting incident in Frederick, Maryland, resulted in critical injuries to two people, while the suspect was shot and killed later by Fort Detrick personnel, the city’s police department revealed on Tuesday.
The alleged perpetrator shot two men at the 8400 block of Progress Drive in Frederick, before moving on to Fort Detrick, a United States Army Futures Command installation, where US Navy personnel shot him. The Navy confirmed that the shooting suspect, “a Navy Hospital Corpsman, is deceased.”
“The public is no longer at risk. Everyone is safe,” Frederick Police Chief Jason Lando stated, before revealing that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
