McConnell: Battle for Senate 50–50
United States Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stated on Wednesday the chances of either the Republican or the Democratic Party winning majority in the Senate in the 2020 elections were “50–50.”
McConnell described the polling, which would determine members of the 117th Congress, as the “most important election” so far as the Democrats had reached “whole new level of radicalism.” “If you look at the Democratic Party today, you ought to be frightened. We’re fighting for our way of life,” he warned.
McConnell previously said he expected an “orderly” transition after the November 3 elections after President Donald Trump stated he would not not commit to a “peaceful transfer of power.”
