Mercedes-Benz xEV sales soar 305% in H1 2021
Mercedes-Benz announced on Tuesday that the company’s sales of plug-in-hybrids and all-electric cars (xEVs) skyrocketed 305% in the first half of 2021 compared to the same timeframe the previous year.
“The positive feedback we received about the EQS following its world premiere and our strong EV sales momentum is proof that Mercedes-EQ is just at the beginning of its electric success story,” Britta Seeger, member of the carmaker’s board of management, noted in a statement.
Global retails sales in the second quarter alone stood at 581,201 units, or 27% higher year on year. Deliveries in China reached new all-time highs for a second quarter and for a first half of a year.
