Merkel doesn’t support mandatory vaccination
Outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel is not planning to propose nationwide mandatory vaccination, the government’s deputy spokeswoman Ulrike Demmer revealed on Wednesday.
The prime ministers of federated states will discuss the next steps related to the coronavirus crisis with Merkel and incoming Chancellor Olaf Scholz tomorrow. The officials are scheduled to hold a press conference following the meeting.
Yesterday, Scholz confirmed he would back compulsory vaccination and added that the German parliament should vote on it before the end of 2021.
