Mexico’s COVID-19 deaths top 50,000 for first time
There were a total of 50,517 people who died from the coronavirus in Mexico since the start of the pandemic as the figure reached 50,000 for the first time, the country’s Ministry of Health announced. Since the previous update, the number of COVID-19 patients that died in Mexico increased by 819.
Over the past 24 hours, Mexico registered 6,590 new cases of the disease, bringing the country’s total number of COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic to 462,690. Recoveries from the disease increased to a total of 308,848 in the same time period.
In its previous update, Mexico said it registered 6,139 new virus cases and 829 COVID-19 deaths.
