Microsoft, Adaptive Biotechnologies team up on COVID-19 research
Microsoft and Adaptive Biotechnologies are expanding their cooperation to research immune system responses to COVID-19 and make data from the research available to all, the companies said in a joint statement on Friday.
CEO and co-founder of Adaptive Biotechnologies Chad Robins stated: “Immune response data may enable detection of the virus in infected people not showing symptoms and improve triaging of newly diagnosed patients, potentially solving two of the challenges we are facing in the current diagnostic paradigm.”
The companies will also cooperate with LabCorp, Illumina and Providence to gather and process results better. Microsoft added it will use machine learning and its Azure cloud to update research results in real time.
