Moderate Dems want infrastructure deal vote ‘immediately’
Nine moderate Democrats in the United States House of Representatives sent a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi urging her to bring forward the bipartisan infrastructure deal to a vote “immediately.”
The moderate Democrats warned that they will not consider voting for the $3.5 trillion budget resolution when it comes to the House unless the bipartisan deal has already been passed and put into law. They stated that its time to “get people to work” and that the deal will help the US “compete with China and others in the global economy.”
This isn’t the first time that Democrats have urged Pelosi to bring forward the bipartisan deal in a standalone vote, as she has previously indicated that she wants to wait for both pieces of legislation to be in the House before voting on either.
