Monoclonal antibodies need to be studied further – Fauci
United States National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci revealed on Friday that, while treating COVID-19 with monoclonal antibodies has shown promise, more studies are needed to determine whether they are effective and safe.
Asked if the US has the cure for the coronavirus, as President Donald Trump claimed earlier in the day, Fauci said that “the word cure leads to a lot of confusion,” and added that the country has “good treatments for people with advanced disease.”
A day ago, Fauci asserted there is a “reasonably good chance” that Trump’s condition improved thanks partially to Regeneron’s antibody cocktail.
