More countries possibly on UK’s green list for summer – Shapps
British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps stated on Thursday the government could add more countries in the period of summer vacations to its so-called green list of territories from which travelers do not have to quarantine after returning to the United Kingdom.
Shapps said the authorities will do so once other countries “catch up” with Britain “in terms of our vaccination [against COVID-19] program.” He added he wanted to see people coming back from amber and red-list countries “separated out as much as is practically possible” due to existing risks they might have contracted the disease.
Shapps recently said the National Health Service’s (NHS) coronavirus application is currently being updated to have an option to show whether one has received a vaccine or a negative PCR [polymerase chain reaction] test and thus can travel internationally.
