Musk hopes for Tesla Berlin production to start in October

Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk stated on Friday that he hopes that the company’s Gigafactory near Berlin will gain official approval to make its first vehicles in October.

After having criticized German bureaucracy in the past, Musk made no similar comments during his visit to the plant that is under construction in Gruenheide.

He was joined by Christian Democratic Union (CDU) leader Armin Laschet, one of the favorites to succeed Angela Merkel as German chancellor following the federal election in September.
