Nasdaq 100 turns to losses ahead of earnings
The Nasdaq 100 turned to losses on Tuesday despite starting the trading session higher ahead of several earnings reports that are to be released later in the day, including its constituents Alphabet Inc., Gilead Sciences Inc., Starbucks Corporation, and Paypal Inc. In the meantime, Senator from West Virginia Joe Manchin described President Joe Biden’s proposed Build Back Better Act as “dead.”
The Nasdaq 100 lost 0.28% at 2:07 pm ET. At the same time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which started the session flat, rose by 0.17%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500, which traded higher at the opening, stood flat.
The euro gained 0.08% to the dollar at 2:10 pm ET to sell for $1.12447.
