NATO: Russia could use chemical weapons
Russia could be planning operations in Ukraine involving chemical weapons, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told Die Welt in an interview on Sunday. He also dismissed Moscow’s “absurd claims” that the United States is developing chemical weapons in laboratories in Ukraine and said Russia makes up “false pretexts in an attempt to justify what cannot be justified.”
“My message to President Putin is clear: end this war, withdraw all forces and commit to diplomacy. The people of Ukraine are resisting the invasion with courage and determination, but the coming days will probably bring even greater hardship,” Stoltenberg warned.
