NATO to deploy 1,000 more troops to Lithuania
The United States, Germany, and the Netherlands are set to deploy additional military forces to Lithuania to boost the country’s defenses as Ukraine and Russia continue clashes, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas said on Saturday.
The deployment will expand the total number of NATO troops in this eastern European country by 1,000 to 4,000, following Lithuania’s request to NATO to send more weapons and forces amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
