Navalny files 2nd lawsuit against penal colony
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has filed a second lawsuit against the penal colony N3 (IK-3) over the conditions the colony instated for when he had to meet his lawyers, RIA reported on Friday.
In the court filing, Navalny alleges that his lawyers weren’t allowed to bring smartphones nor laptops when they visited him, thus not allowing his representatives the tools to properly defend him. This is the second lawsuit that Navalny brought up on this issue, with the first being dismissed back in June.
Navalny has been moved to the IK-3 colony where he was treated while he was ill, following his hunger strike. His imprisonment has been a point of contention between Russia and the West, with the United States announcing last month they were preparing further sanctions on Russia over the issue.
