Netanyahu calls for calm amid Jerusalem clashes
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for calm on Saturday following two days of clashes in Jerusalem between Israelis and Palestinians.
Speaking after a security meeting with senior Israel Defense Force officials, Netanyahu also addressed the recent rocket attacks in the Gaza region saying that he has “instructed everyone to prepare for any scenario.” Commenting on the unrest in Jerusalem, he stated that “we maintain the freedom of religion as we do every year, for all residents and visitors in Jerusalem,” but also demanded that everyone comply with the law.
Last night, Israel and Hamas exchanged rocket attacks, as clashes in Jerusalem resulted in over 100 injuries.
