‘New proposals’ could help EU reach relief deal – report
Leaders of the European Union members could reach an agreement on a coronavirus relief deal thanks to the “new proposals,” Agence France-Presse reported on Saturday, citing a “European source.”
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz stated on Friday that he rejected the initial offer on the EU coronavirus recovery fund, while the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis claimed that the bloc is still far from reaching an agreement on the relief deal.
Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel asserted that making any predictions on when the deal will be reached is difficult, while the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed optimism stating that the solution is possible.
