Nord Stream 2: Sanctions block €700M investments
Nord Stream 2 AG, the company in charge of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project, said on Wednesday that additional sanctions the United States may impose on the project would possibly block investments worth approximately €700 million.
Such a measure by Washington would “directly affect more than 120 companies from more than 12 European countries,” the company told TASS. PJSC Gazprom, the owner of Nord Stream 2 AG, had previously expressed confidence that the pipeline will be finalized and operational by the end of the year.
Representatives of Russia, the European Union and Germany have opposed any US sanctions against the project.
