Nord Stream 2 to test gas filling on June 11
Nord Stream 2 AG, the company behind the pipeline construction between Russia and Germany, revealed to the Interfax news agency on Thursday that on June 11 the first line of the project will begin preparations to be filled with gas.
The company also stated that the underwater section of the first of two lines of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline is technically fully complete and therefore is ready for first trials.
“On June 4 the pipe-laying operations were completed, today the tie-in weld was concluded – underwater sections of the pipeline laid in Russia and Germany were interconnected. Starting tomorrow, we begin testing and commissioning work on filling the line with gas,” the company’s statement said.
