Novavax to deliver COVID vaccine to Japan in 2022
Novavax Inc. revealed on Friday the company will deliver the first supplies of its COVID-19 vaccine to Japan in late 2021 or during the first months of next year.
Japanese Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. is working with Novavax to ensure Japan receives around 250 million vaccine doses each year, while the deal is funded by Japan’s Health Ministry.
Novavax’s jab hasn’t been approved yet for emergency use, although the American company recently released a new study on its shot’s effectiveness versus new coronavirus strains. The vaccine is expected to be manufactured mostly in India’s Serum Institute.
