NYC’s mayor says indoor dining likely to shut soon
New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio said on Thursday that it’s “just a matter of time” before indoor dining, gyms and salons are shut in the city due to the rising number of new COVID-19 cases in the area.
The expected tightening of restriction measures comes as expected, as the United States is about to mark Thanksgiving next week, followed by a significant amount of gatherings. In response to the outbreak, schools in New York are closed as of today.
The federal state of New York has been one of the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic, with over 611,000 registered infections and more than 34,100 deaths since the start of the year.
