Oil falls over 1% amid Delta strain fears
Oil futures traded over 1% lower on Friday, hovering near three-month lows hit earlier this week.
Crude prices were affected by persisting demand concerns amid a surge in cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 around the world.
International benchmark Brent for settlements in October dropped 1.32% to sell for 65.57 per barrel at 8:03 am ET and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) slid 1.40% to go for $62.61 per barrel at 8:04 am ET. Over the past week, oil prices lost around 6%.
