Pelosi: Debt ceiling lift pays off Trump’s $7T debt
United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi asserted that the increase of the debt limit is needed because of the $7 trillion debt that was created by the Trump administration.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Pelosi stated that there are several options when it comes to lifting the debt ceiling. Additionally, she noted that the debt limit rise won’t be put in the upcoming budget reconciliation package.
Earlier today, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen urged Congress to raise the debt limit, warning that without the increase “cash and extraordinary measures will be exhausted during the month of October.”
