Pelosi invites Biden to deliver SOTU address on March 1
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invited United States President Joe Biden to deliver his annual State of the Union (SOTU) address to a joint session of Congress on March 1, her office said on Friday.
“Thank you for your bold vision and patriotic leadership which have guided America out of crisis and into an era of great progress, as we not only recover from the pandemic but Build Back Better!” Pelosi said in a letter to Biden. “In that spirit, I am writing to invite you to address a Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday, March 1, to share your vision of the State of the Union,” she added.
The address will be Biden’s first SOTU speech as the president’s address to Congress in the first year of the presidency, which Biden had last year, is not officially regarded as a SOTU speech.
