Pentagon rules WH didn’t impact JEDI contract decision
The Pentagon Inspector General (IG) did not find evidence that the White House (WH) impacted the United States Department of Defense’s decision to award the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) cloud computing contract to Microsoft Corp., the watchdog said in a 313-page report on Wednesday.
The $10 billion JEDI contract had been awarded to Microsoft on October 26, 2019. Its competitor, Amazon.com Inc. claimed that US President Donald Trump had influenced the decision because of his alleged animosity toward Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
Amazon later filed a motion in court to suspend the deal, which was granted in February.
