Putin against militarization of space
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in an interview to NBC published on Monday that Russia is against any militarization of space and believes that space must remain free of any military weapons or equipment, especially in the near-Earth space.
For that reason, according to Putin, Russia has not given Iran any satellite technologies, which could potentially be dangerous if used in favor of Yemeni Houthis or the Hezbollah organization. However, as far as space exploration goes, Russia is willing to cooperate with the United States and NASA in particular.
The president mentioned that space exploration work can also be located outside of the US, therefore Russia is in close partnership with China, including deep space studies. He added that the International Space Station is for technical reasons close to ending its work, but Russia will continue its international cooperation.
