Rep. John Lewis passes away after battle with cancer
Civil rights icon Representative John Lewis passed away after announcing he was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer late last year.
The 80-year old congressman, who has been serving in the House since 1987, was one of the organizers of the 1963 March on Washington, the scene of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech.
He was also one of the key Democrats in the House that pushed for impeaching President Donald Trump.
