Report: UK to tax firms which profited from pandemic
The United Kingdom’s government is currently consulting with tech and retail companies over an online sales tax, the Sunday Times reported.
Additionally, Downing Street is working on an “excessive profits tax” for businesses whose profits have surged as a result of the crisis, like Amazon.com Inc., the news organization said.
The changes are reportedly expected to be announced in the first half of the year.
