Rouhani: COVID-19 cases in Iran hundredfold higher than reported
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani (pictured) said on Saturday that the number of coronavirus cases in the country is around 25 million, a number 100 times higher than what has been reported so far, citing a “new Health Ministry report.”
In a televised speech, Rouhani stressed that 35 million additional people are at risk of contracting COVID-19, urging Iranians to wear a mask.
The official report reveals there have been 269,440 confirmed coronavirus cases since the start of the outbreak, with 13,791 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
