Russia adds two Navalny aides to ‘terrorist’ list
Russian authorities added two allies of opposition figure Alexey Navalny (pictured left) to its “terrorists and extremists” lists on Friday.
Leonid Volkov and Ivan Zhdanov (pictured center) were added to the Federal Financial Monitoring Service’s list on allegations of involvement in activities that support terrorist or extremist organizations.
Navalny has been imprisoned in Russia since January 2021 and was designated a “terrorist” by Russia’s prison commission in October. He was also charged with, among other things, creating an extremist group, the now-disbanded Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), which was led by Zhdanov.
