Russia expects COVID-19 death rate to jump in May
Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova (pictured) said on Friday that the mortality rate from the coronavirus in the country is likely to significanly rise in May.
“We are trying to save the maximum number of patients, but the disease and chronic diseases do not always end with a favorable outcome,” she warned and stressed that, according to the experts’ analysis, “a serious increase in mortality rates will be recorded in May.”
Earlier in the day, Russian health authorities reported the largest daily COVID-19 death toll since the start of the outbreak in the country with 150 new registered fatlities.
