Russia to launch its own space mission to Mars
Russian Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin (pictured) announced on Friday that the Russian space agency will be carrying out an independent space mission, according to Interfax news agency.
“In the very near future we will start working on the implementation of a mission to Mars,” shared Rogozin. The statement comes after the European Space Agency (ESA) decided to suspend the ExoMars astrobiology program that was about to be realized in cooperation with Russia.
“It is not difficult to repeat the Kazachok lander, which we made for the ExoMars mission. We have all the drawings, all the design documentation,” concluded Rogozin.
