Russia to stockpile record volumes of gas – Gazprom
Russia’s state-owned energy company Gazprom announced on Friday that as it continues to pump gas into storage units it expects to reach a record high volume of gas stockpiles – 72.6 billion cubic meters. The daily production capacity will be increased to an all-time high of 847.9 million cubic meters per day.
“The company [Gazprom] is focused on precise implementation of its priority goal – ensuring high reliability of gas supplies to Russian and foreign consumers. Given the ongoing high demand for gas, Gazprom continues to fulfill its contractual obligations,” the official press release said.
The company added the month of March to the so-called winter period in Russia and European countries. Therefore the demand for sufficient gas reserves has increased.
