Russia: US sanctions are ‘confrontational’
Russia’s Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov (pictured) stated that the latest United States sanctions are a “confrontational step” towards the country.
Antonov said that the US’ approach towards its relations with Russia “does not stand up to criticism,” adding that it didn’t give sufficient evidence for the need for the sanctions. Moreover, he labelled the sanctions as “Washington’s deliberate efforts to limit the access of domestic enterprises to high-precision technologies from abroad.”
Earlier, the US Department of Commerce unveiled it has blacklisted more than 30 businesses and entities, including six from Russia, as they have determined they are attempting “to acquire goods, including those of American origin, for activities contrary to the interests of US national security and foreign policy.”
