Russian attempt to change status quo unacceptable – Japan
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida asserted on Saturday that Russia’s solo attempt to threaten the status quo is unacceptable, and the Indo-Pacific region will not allow such behavior.
“In the recent Japan-Australia-India-U.S.(Quad) Leaders’ Video Conference, in which Prime Minister Modi and I participated, we concurred that any attempt to unilaterally change the status quo by force, such as this time, must not be tolerated in the Indo-Pacific region,” stated Kishida.
The prime minister of Japan is currently visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They will be discussing the framework of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD) and planning a summit, where the four parties, consisting of Japan, the US, India, and Australia would meet in Tokyo, in the following months.
