Russian uni says it made world’s 1st safe COVID-19 vaccine
Trials for the first COVID-19 vaccine in Russia have been completed and the vaccine showed it was successful and safe, Director of the Institute for Translational Medicine and Biotechnology Vadim Tarasov told Sputnik.
The trial which took place at the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University tested the vaccine made by the Russian Gamalei Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.
Clinical trials are still ongoing, Tarasov pointed out and stressed that the Gamalei Institute is now looking into increasing production and arranging distribution of the vaccine.
